At BGP we have diabetic and asthma Specialist Practitioners, two Practice Paramedics, a Practice Matron, and a Physicians Associate who work across both sites.
A Specialist Practitioner is a registered nurse who holds a current registration certificate with the UK Nursing & Midwifery Council, plus has a minimum of a Master of Science Degree in Nursing.
Our Practice Matron co-ordinates the care of the elderly and recently discharged from Hospital, liaising closely with the District nurses in the community.
Our Practice Paramedics make home visits to housebound patients and see patients with minor ailments.
Physician Associates support doctors in the diagnosis and management of patients. They are trained to perform a number of roles including: taking medical histories, performing examinations, analysing test results, and diagnosing illnesses under the direct supervision of a doctor.
We are also lucky to have a Clinical Pharmacist who works with our doctors and dispensary team, working on medication reviews and hospital discharge medication.
