How to Request a Home Visit
We regret that we are unable to offer home visiting for those who simply have no immediate transport. Transport must remain the patient's responsibility.
Our doctors typically see five patients in the practice in the time it takes to do a single home visit. For this reason, we ask our patients to come to the practice if at all possible. Visits are done willingly to those with severe illness, but if a visit is considered inappropriate or unnecessary after assessment, you will be offered an appointment at the Medical Centre
If you wish to request a home visit, you will normally receive a phone call from the duty doctor to discuss the situation. It may, for example, be more appropriate to arrange direct transfer to hospital rather than delaying and waiting for a GP to visit. Requests for home visits must be made before 11:00 to allow the Doctors to plan their visiting priorities.
